Whale Watching
July through October, humpback whales migrate through Panama's Pacific waters. Over 30 documented cetacean species inhabit these waters year-round.
Isla Farallon
A volcanic island nearby with seabird colonies (frigates, cormorants, pelicans) and excellent snorkeling with butterflyfish, sea turtles, and coral.
Sport Fishing
Big game fishing tournaments depart from the marina. Top spots include Pinas Bay, Isla Iguana, and the Pearl Islands — some of the world's richest waters.
El Valle de Antón
Day trip to an extinct volcanic crater. El Chorro Macho waterfall, botanical gardens, hot springs, zipline canopy tours, and a vibrant artisan market.
Diving & Snorkeling
Isla Iguana (40+ hectares of coral reefs) and Coiba National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site) offer some of the best diving in the Americas.
Panama's Dry Arch
Buenaventura sits within Panama's "dry arch," enjoying less rainfall even during wet season. Year-round sunshine with steady Pacific breezes.
